Happy Freebie Friday
UPDATE: The winner of PLAY OF PASSION by Nalini Singh is Pamk! Congrats! And thanks to all the participants who came back day after day to compete for this book. I am very impressed. Well have to do contests like this more often! Pamk -- please email Contests(AT)knightagency.net with your physical address.
I'm checking in VERY late today (as in Friday is almost over), so my apologies to the Freebie Fridays crowd. Let's just say a frantic mad dash to the Atlanta airport, followed by a frantic mad dash through Houston's airport and two very long uncomfortable flights were involved... But anyways, onto the freebie. Today, all you have to do is leave a comment, any sort between now and late Monday morning to win a copy of PLAY OF PASSION by Nalini Singh. I'll update this post with the winner on Monday. To spice it up a little, you can enter up to 10 times a day. So if you are a REAL Nalini fan, you'll come back Saturday, Sunday and Monday morning to make sure you have the best chance.
Report from Cyberspace:
First a few tidbits from TKA. This coming Monday is the start of our countdown to Turkey Day. Guest bloggers include Diana Pharaoh Francis, Maria Geraci, Marjorie M. Liu, David Mack, Renee Benard, Jenna Kernan and Knight agent Pamela Harty. Each author is doing a giveaway a day. Make sure you come check us out!
Also, we're hosting a chat with N.K. Jemisin, author of THE HUNDRED THOUSAND KINGDOMS and THE BROKEN KINGDOMS, on Thursday, November 18th at 9pm ET. N.K.'s was recently included on Publishers Weekly's Best of 2010 list, and THE HUNDRED THOUSAND KINGDOMS made the #5 spot on Amazon's Best of 2010 list for Sci-Fi/Fantasy.
In non-TKA releated news, the New York Times bestseller list is expanding to include e-books. A sign o' the times.
In more e-book news, eBooknewser reported that there was a 158 percent increase in ebook purchases, as opposed to the 40 percent decrease in hardcover adult fiction.
A Reader's Digest survey discovered that 1/5 of kids hardly ever pick up a book, and one in twenty children have never read a book. :-/

I've heard lots of good things about Nalini, but never read her myself, so I'd be curious to see what the buzz is about.
1 out 5 kids? Shut.Up. That's awful...maybe it's because their mama is such a bibliophile, but both my daughters (ages 2 and 7)love books, are surrounded by them, and get a thrill out of shopping for more.
Yay! NYT to add e-book sales...this will be very interesting if certain titles are only available in certain formats...
Woot Woot! Please enter me!
