Launching TKA’s Chats… Beverly Brandt!

Now, if you don’t already know, Beverly Brandt is a former financial analyst who had big dreams of becoming a published author someday. Those dreams became a reality back in 2000 when she wrote her first book in under three months and sold it just six months later. Beverly has gone on to sell more than a dozen novels and novellas to two different publishers since that first sale. In addition, her May 2003 release, ROOM SERVICE, has been optioned for the big screen with hot young actress Jessica Simpson signed on to play the lead. 2005 has been a busy year for Beverly and her kickass alter ego Jacey Ford, with five releases this year . . . and another six already scheduled for 2006! Her latest release, THE TIARA CLUB, was an RT BOOKClub top pick, and KICK ASS, her upcoming anthology with Maggie Shayne, MaryJanice Davidson, and Angela Knight, was awarded 4 1/2 stars. As you can see, she has tons of experience, so get your questions ready for an expert.

Along with her publishing successes, Beverly's novels also have been finalists in numerous contests, including the Daphne du Maurier contest for best romantic suspense (2005), the National Readers' Choice award (2005), Georgia Romance Writers' Maggie award (2004), the Madcap award for best romantic comedy (2003 & 2005), and the Smoky Mountain Romance Writers' Readers & Bookbuyers Best (2004 & 2005). Way to go Beverly! She continues to write and hopes that she'll actually win one of these awards someday (we know she will). . . but she'd settle for a spot on the USA Today bestseller list, instead!
