New Digs, Giveaways, and chats! Oh My!

I'm obviously a big fan of the "lions, tigers and bears" title stealer, aren't I?? :) I am going to try and post a quick picture here of one of our offices since so many of you have kindly asked to see pictures. It's one I took before we closed on the property, but this room is one of my favorites. Let's see if it will upload and work.

All right! It did work! The room to the left belongs to our submission coordinator, Elaine Spencer.

While I'm on a roll, here's a view of the front part of our new agency house, the sitting area. This is where we all meet as a group, or where we can sit and read submissions.

The photo came out a big dark, but you can get a sense of the well-sanded and polished floors and how atmospheric our new agency home truly is! This coming week, I will take additional (and better) pictures of the entire place--including our beautiful yard and garden.

So what about the giveaways?

In the coming weeks we will begin giving away autographed books and other fun things on our agency e-group. But guess what? To qualify, you obviously have to be a member! That's also the main way you'll know all the latest on our upcoming chats with editors and authors. In the future, we already have Berkley Publishing Group's Kate Seaver joining us. And of course many more publishing professionals will chat, sharing their insights on the industry--possibly even agents from other firms!

So, that would make it an extraordinarily good time to go ahead and join the egroup, wouldn't it?

Not only that, but as mentioned here previously, I'm planning some very exciting giveaways on my author e-group, as well. In a few weeks, one lucky winner will take home a very early ARC of PARALLEL ATTRACTION--but there will also be other prizes then, too. To celebrate the book's publication in April, I will be giving away an iPod Nano! So you obviously want to join the group and stay tuned for all sorts of tidbits about the Parallel Series.

So, as you can tell, there's just a ton of things to be excited about. I'm about to answer the questions on that question and answer thread, so stay tuned for those replies. After that, who knows? :) TKA is always up to something new... even when you least expect it!

It's beautiful, Deidre. I love wood floors--have a ton of them myself! Most installed with my husband--darn hard work (his; I just chose which board he should pound in next). My fav, though, is the original oak floor that came with our house (late '50s). You wouldn't believe the difference in hardness of oak between late-50s wood and late 90s/early 00s wood. The new stuff is much easier to install (we had to move some of the old stuff out from under lino in our kitchen to the walk-in closet in the MBR).

I love the look, Deidrepmrj. Very mellow.

I've been wondering...what does a submissions coodinator do?

Wow! The pics are gorgeous! It's so comfortable, so homey. A place where you could curl up and take off your shoes. Will there be naps? *g*

Jaci...who's all about naps ;-)

Beautiful! I love the craftsman era. Beautiful and functional.

Gorgeous.

So, you need to buy a new broom (never used) and sprinkle a little salt inside then open the door and sweep it all out-- taking any bad feelings/spirits/karma with it.

My mil (from Italy) INSISTED I do this in every house that we have lived in.

A bit of old world magic.

;)
