Summer Fun

School’s out, school’s out, teachers let the monkeys out . . . (at least school’s out here in Florida—don’t know about up north?) kids are out surfing, biking, skate boarding, and READING. That’s right, I said reading. I can’t tell you how many kids I see sprawled on the beach with their noses in a book. Of course they’re lobster red and I’m dying to shout, SPF PEOPLE, but heck, they’re READING!

The only problem is I’m jonesing to know what they’re reading, but they always seem to have the book cover buried in a beach towel. Or if the cover happens to be up, they think I’m a voyeur because I’m staring. LOL.

Well, I suppose I should introduce myself. I’m Shannon Greenland and I’m new to TKA. I’m absolutely thrilled to be a guest blogger, and in fact think I’m quite the rock star now. I mean, just look at all the other awesome authors that have contributed this week! What a line up!

Up above is my teen spy series, The Specialists. The pink and purple covers came out last year and the yellow and green ones come out this summer. Perfect for that beach towel and lobster red skin.

And here’s some sites for your browser favorites:

If you’re on MySpace, too, come on and friend me!

Have a chuckle as you read my loony musings.

There’s lots of cool stuff here. Contests, tour schedule, goofy pictures, and much more. Come cruise around!

Hey, Shannon!

I'm seeing the same phenomenon - kids reading by the pool (alas, no beach within 600 miles...) I love it! (Even moreso if I can see that they are reading my book...) : )

Congrats on the ALA nomination!!!

My daughter has read book 1 and 2. As we get ready to leave for Barbados, I'll get the others.

Keep doing, what you're doing.

I read the first 2 books over the past 2 days and LOVED them. Its like The Squad, but different. Are you going to do a book about each of the team memebers? Even Katarina? I can't wait to read Book 3!
