For Those Tracking Deidre's Reading Shelf
At latest check, I currently have on my laptop:
four unanswered queries
eleven partial submissions
four complete submissions
For those keeping track of this kind of thing. :)

Well, to add to this, I have 13 partial submissions. I don't want to count the complete manuscripts; the pile is too scary right now, and I know for a fact there are more on the way.
I extend an offer to help read. Then again, I don't know diddly squat about what an agent looks for in a submission so maybe that offer is a "moo" point.
I don't know, Jana...you called me "hysterical" so you obviously have impeccable taste! :-)

I know Deidre's client Gena Showalter is collecting questions for Nephele. Will they be posted on the Knight blog site?
Cindy
who made a visit to the post office yesterday... :)
Gena's interview with Nephele will be posted early next week on both this site and Gena's. :) Deidre
So sounds like Nephele has her desk full, so I'll try once again to take Deidre's advice and "fuggedabout" my full for the time being, and instead worry about the full request I just got from Red Sage... for a novella that's only about one third complete. Serves me right for counting on a long response time!
One quick question though - I have another WIP that I'm trying to get ready in time for Reno. If I haven't heard from Nephele by then, how should I navigate the query process? Should I start fresh with an email query, or should I send it straight to Nephele?
If it's on my desk now, I should have a response out before RWA in Reno.
Very Pregnant,
Actually we only consider one project at a time. So you'll want to keep writing, see what we say, and if we pass, you'll start anew with a query (that is, if you want to do so.) :) D
Thanks, Nephele and Deidre, for the quick answers to my question. Hopefully I'll have no need of an agent appointment at national ;-)
Thanks, Deidre. I'll look forward to reading the interview next week.

If this is off topic, I'm sorry.
I tried to click on the Non-Fiction hotlink on the agency webpage but got a "page not found" error. I then emailed an address requesting where I could go to get the needed information. I didn't receive an answer. (This was about a month ago.) Where am I to go to get clarity on Non-Fiction submission guidelines? Any help would be muchly appreciated.
Also, is the 10-day response time for Fiction working days or includes weekends? I sent my query on April 29th.
(sorry for the original/dup error. I'm web-challenged)
Hi, Brenda:
I'm not sure what you mean by "nonfiction." Is this submission guidelines? B/c I believe that both fiction and nonfiction are combined on one link. I don't think the request info button is working, so I will report that to the web folks. D
Brenda:
We are current with all queries through end of last week (if you mean e-queries.)
Current? Well, darn. I guess my e-mail went astray. I shall resend to submissions@knightagency.net.
Thanx for the update and the help on the "request info" button.
Thanx!
ventgirl,
We don't handle that area of representation. Our only film interest at this time is in representing our own book projects for film adaptation. Deidre
Okies, so...what's the shelf say now? (obsessed minds need to know.)
Cheers!
