Important Submissions Announcement
Hi, Everyone:
I wanted to let you know that for the time being (probably a month at most) I am closing submissions for new/unpublished author material so that those of us here with submissions in hand can catch up a bit.
If you are a published author, yes please feel free to go ahead and query us. If a new author, I just feel it will be in your better interest to wait until we open up for submissions again later this fall.I know this may be disappointing, but it is only a very short term situation.
So, to reiterate, if you already have material in house, we will be reviewing it. If you’ve already queried us, we’ll be replying on the query shortly. We simply want to put a hold on further submissions for a short period of time.
All Best,
Deidre Knight

Just when I was gathering my courage...
Thank you. This notice is most appreciated.
We just need to catch our breath a little, gang! We'll open again before too long. We don't ever want to get miserably behind, and I think this is the best strategy. Thanks!
Oh, dear!!!
I'm one of the three blog contest winners who won a critique. I decided to send the "book of my heart," as I already have sent two hardcopy submissions to Nephele (and she has them already.) But then I decided I'd do a final tightening up, and then I had a few issues around here that kept me off the computer (over the Labor Day weekend, I had commitments, and then I had to fix family stuff.) SO -->> I have not sent my chapters for critique! Although they are finally ready tonight!
Can I still send my chapters for critique? Should I send to a different address, not the "submissions" email address, since you won't be checking that one? Perhaps to somebody's personal email? I shouldn't have waited . . . bad author!!
But the chapters look REALLY good to me now. Now I don't have to be embarrassed to send 'em out.
Somebody help me. . . . you can always reply to

Shalanna,
Of course we won't shut you out on a contest win--nor will we shut out anyone whose work we've already requested. This means we won't accept queries for *NEW* material during this time. We all need some time to catch up a bit, and it just doesn't make sense to keep fielding so many queries each day until we do. :) But we'll be open again in a bit!
shalanna, can you email me please at AT verizon DOT net?
Thanks,
Terri (one of the other blog winners who did get her submission in... but only just)
Yes, Terri, will do in a sec!
Okay, I got my submission sent in. Do you KNOW what we are getting for free?
Here's what eBay bidders have run the charity (Larissa) auction up to--Manuscript critique: Deidre Knight, Agent, 49 bids, $460.00
Nearly FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS!! Woo! I tell you what, that is more than my car payment. And I'm driving a decent car these days (a Windstar), not like the hootenanny I used to have (a 1987 Plymouth Voyager).
That just TELLS you what folks think of Deidre!
I was cogitatin' on bidding on another auction, perhaps Holly Lisle, as I enjoy her work, but hey, it is getting up there over $200. I know, I know, it's for charity. But as my husband would say, beating me over my punkin head with the depleted checkbook, charity begins at home **GRIN**. I already gave to some other worthy causes. So I don't think I'll be able to bid on Holly. Or on Kate Duffy.
Monica Jackson--another author who is donating a crit--is one of my occasional critique buddies, *nyaaah world*, and HER bidding is ALSO up there over $250. I must go and salaam unto her. I will have to send her better chapters to comment on in the future. And funnier cartoons.
Terri/Moonhart, my email to you keeps bouncing. Is that moonhart at verizon, or am I missing a letter or something? I'm at comcast, which is also a dot net.
