SHOW AND TELL!
Everyone get excited, today’s post is going to be a large Show and Tell. After reading a blog earlier this week I was excited to have discovered a book that I would never have known about otherwise. I love finding new things to move to my to-be-read list. My to-be-read list runs side by side with my amazon.com wish list. **TANGENT ALERT**
I LOVE the wishlist feature. Now don’t get me wrong ~ I love bookstores as much as the next book junkie, the thrill of walking through the shelves thinking I want this, and this, and this . . . But then when those geniuses at amazon found a way to put it all right in front of me, as in I don’t even have to turn my head to see all the little treasures awaiting me, truly a monumental day. Plus it is your wishlist, it’s like your own personal oasis, listing only the things you are interested in. A place with no bull, no shameless marketing, just your selections.
ANYWAYS, back to Show and Tell time. This above linked blog post combined with the release of my absolute favorite author’s newest book on Tuesday has me wondering what new releases everyone else is excited about. Tell us about it. What books have just hit the shelves that you couldn’t wait to get your hands on?

I didn't put it on my blog because it's not on my Amazon pre-order list, but I absolutely can't wait for the May release of ENSLAVE ME SWEETLY, which is the second book in Gena Showalter's alien huntress series. I couldn't put the first book, AWAKEN ME DARKLY, down.
I'm sure there are others.
I'll be pacing back and forth until August when I'll be able to get my hands on Steven Pressfield's newest, The Afghan War. It's the story of Alexander the Great's conflict in Afghanistan during his march to India. IMHO, he's the best writer of historical fiction working today.
Diana; I totally agree~ us agency girls haven't even gotten sneak peaks yet!
Scott; August is a ways off, you've got some time to spare!
How about things that just came out though, what is the most recent purchase that you couldn't wait to get home?
I bought Bad Boys Ahoy! and read it right away!
I would have rushed to the store to get Midnighters, but I got an ARC of it instead. I was already reading it in the elevator on my way back to the apartment.
That Alexander the Great book sounds fabulous! i'll have to keep my eye out for it.
JR Ward's Lover Eternal released this week. Though I had already gotten the ARC from her months ago. *grin*. Fabulous vampire series and I'm ready for the next book!
And what Diana said. I'm dying for Enslave Me Sweetly since I loved Awaken Me Darkly.
And Diana's book needs to release early. Or Diana needs to send it to me. *cough*
;-)
Steven Saylor's 'Judgment of Caesar', the latest in his Roma Sub Rosa series of Roman mysteries. I don't normally read mysteries but for him I make an exception. He has a way of bringing historical figures to life.
Oh, and Pressfield's book is scheduled for July, not August. My goof . . .
I have so many I want to read right now. A ton are coming out this month, including Wolf at the Door by Christine Warren. Love her Ellora's Cave work. I also have Jewel of Atlantis by Gena Showalter in the queue to be read. Bad Boys Ahoy was fantastic. So very hot. I'm finishing up the Sexy Beast anthology with Vivi Anna, Kate Douglas, et al. I just bought Devil in Winter by Lisa Kleypas and Deep, Dark & Dangerous by Jaid Black. I want to pick up Lover Eternal by J.R. Ward. Christine Feehan's and Angela Knight's new books will be released soon. So many books, so little time to read. Sigh.
Elaine, this is a great question. I just got Lisa Kleypas's DEVIL IN WINTER and can't wait to really dig in. I've only read the first few chapters b/c every night I'm too tired to really dig in! But I counted the days until that book shipped, having loved the other Wallflower books.
D
I am on a book-buying diet. I'm not allowed to buy another new book until I've read everything on the floor near my bed. (Never mind everything on my shelves I haven't read...) Since these days I mostly read manuscripts, I'm lucky to get through one published book a month. So, no fantasizing for me. Though I do love that Amazon Wishlist feature. (As do my friends, come holiday time.) It's so nice to be able to keep track of what you want. At least some of it...
