Weekly Report from Cyberspace:
CLIENT NEWS: Marjorie M. Liu was interviewed about her New York Times bestselling Dirk and Steele series by Morgan Doremus at Romantic Times. Marjorie's latest Dirk and Steele release is IN THE DARK OF DREAMS.
CLIENT NEWS: Orbit Books did a wrap up of the amazing praise N.K. Jemisin has received this year for her Inheritance Trilogy books. Most recently her debut fantasy novel THE HUNDRED THOUSAND KINGDOMS was nominated for a 2010 Goodreads Choice Award.
eBookNewser reports that Google Editions is planning to finally release later this year after much protest and legal wrangling.
NaNoWriMo is officially over and Galley Cat reports that writers produced 2,799,449,947 words. Whoa. The race to write the Great American Novel is clearly as strong as ever. We're betting a more than few NaNoWriMos participated in our speed dating contest earlier this week.
The Huffington Post has a slide show of the New York Times Best Books of 2010 list, plus a fun poll to rank your favorites. Some of the top books include ROOM by Emma Donoghue, A VISIT FROM THE GOON SQUAD by Jennifer Egan, and FINISHING THE HAT by Steven Sondheim.
Married couple John Yunker and Midge Raymond produced book trailer genius. The vid entitled "Love in the Time of Amazon" shows the authors secretly buying each others books to help boost Amazon rankings and create a little more cooperation around the house...

Oh my goodness, that Amazon book vid was OH so funny! Very cute to do. Now I must request a sequel, where they find the books :) lol
Congrats to all the NaNo people--though I hope none of them did actually participate in the contest, for your sake :)
The December books all look like good ones. I wouldn't mind reading any of them

I just bought one of Diana Pharaoh Francis's books. Would love to win a second one.
Love, love, love Marjorie Liu - just picked up her latest today!!!
I've been looking forward to Crimson Wind. annhonATaolDOTcom
Great set of books. Dakotas are some of my favorites. Looking forward to picking this one up soon.

I did participate in Nano and the contest. However, the book from this year's Nano is FAR from complete, even with over 50k words. lol
Congrats to the nominee for the debut novel, that is so exciting!
I would love a book to read that has nothing to do with what I am writing at the moment. My most recent reads have all had something to do with my writing lately. ie POV books, how established authors do certain types of scenes, etc
Ready to read a couple of books for the simple pleasure of reading!
I'm looking forward to reading Crimson Wind by Diana Pharaoh Francis
NaNo was really great this year. It was my first time hearing of it and I participated in NaNoReMo (national novel revision month) to polish a dirty manuscript. I'm going to have to second meradeth in congratulating the authors who participated, though; Twitter was a-flitter with amazing and encouraging posts by writers, agents, and editors all throughout the month of November.
All the book look great. Happy Friday!
I'm loving the lineup of your authors' December releases!
How can you say no to freebe friday with such a great list of books coming out.
I note that that word count is only the people who registered and uploaded a count.
Wow, the information from Galley Cat was very interesting. I actually had ten students produce around 15,000 of those words. On the YWP (Young Writer's Program) NaNo there were over 262,000,000 words written by kids under the age of 18.
That to me is an amazing event.
And the December list of books is neat, too. LOL
I love books
That is a lot of words for NaNo and I hope a lot of people finally get their books published. Happy Friday.

Wrapped up my 2nd year crossing the NaNo finish line - didn't enter the speed dating contest because I need to finish a MS! My goal it is to wrap the current one up by Feb 1st...
Love Dirk & Steele. I'd like to try for Killing Rocks. Happy Holidays!
I love Marjorie Liu's books, but I confess, most were library copies... *Drooling just a little.* LOL
I LOOOVE Marjorie M. Liu's books. She is seriously my writing and career idol.
A great list of books!
That was hilarious...loved it! I wish I could find a way to get my hubby to do household chores.
Wow never read any of those authors before, might be some good additions to our cyber book club always looking for new authors
Lots of good book choices there. Have a great weekend, everyone.
Wow, what a great list of books for the giveaway. Any of them would be awesome to win!
