Quick Poll

To all who attend or desire to attend TKA Chats:
Please post a message with your response.

Is there a preference between Tuesday or Thursday nights (9-10PM EST)?

What is the consensus on lunchtime chats with TKA agents and submissions staff?

Thanks for taking the time to respond. These answers will help as we plan our new (and exciting!) year of chats and other online events.

Cheers!

Tuesdays are better for me because I don't get home from work on time on Thursdays. I almost get home from work on time on Tuesdays.

Lunches are tough--even with the time difference, because here in L.A. that's at the beginning of my day.

When you held the chats on Sundays I could come. I don't think I've been to one since then, although I might have made a lunch-time chat.

FWIW,
Gina

Thursdays are better because American Idol is more likely to come on Tuesday.

I like lunchtime chats but that's because it's a great excuse to take a break from writing in the middle of day. And yes, there's no worry of a lunchtime chat conflicting with American Idol or Survivor.

Tuesdays have my vote. Hubby works more often on Tuesdays, so I can stare at the computer without him pouting at the lack of attention. ;)

Lunchtime chats would be good for me - get me awake and prepped for writing!

Lunchtimes are bad for me as I work full time but either evening would be fine, no preference between them.

No preference on Tues./Thurs. nights.

I really like the lunchtime chats, beginning either at Noon or 1 pm EST.

Thanks, Julie!!

I'd go with Tuesday nights (even though American Idol might be on) and lunchtimes work well too.

Thanks,
Wendy

Hi Julie, lunches are tough as well for me because well, that's in the middle of the workaday where I'm sitting on my desk at the Day Job. Weekends would be better, or evenings at 8 pm.

I prefer Tuesdays, because while I am NOT more important than Jennifer, she can TiVo/record American Idol and I can't TiVo my kids' dance and swim classes, three of which are Thursday nights.

Though, even then, if they're late Thursday (9:00) I can still make it. So I just LEAN toward Tuesday. :)

I understand lunch chats can be tough for people, and I still have my day job (until June, yay, me!), but I can take my lunch break while we chat and if it's that or no chats, I'll take that. I'd take chat transcripts with the agents and staff if it's luncheon or nothing (I mean, evenings are family times for them, too).

So, thumbs up on lunch chats.

I like the lunch chats because they don't interfere with family and writing time.

*blank stare*

Would this involve one of the 15 remotes?

I really like the lunchtime chats, its a nice break in the day and its an inspirational pick me up, that will almost always get me back on my writing streak.

Between Tues/Thurs, I'd have to say Thursday, cause I get home earlier. But it's still a quick call either way, and most times, I end up missing because I get home too late.

Either way, these chats are so great. Whatever you decide, I'll try to be there.

Thanks for asking.

Lunch times are out because of my paid job.

I rarely can make the evening chats so as long as I can read the transcripts (Julie, you're doing a great job) I'm happy.

Day job prevents me from coming to a lunchtime chat, unless I brought in my laptop and go over to Starbuck's for their free Wi-Fi. LOL! Tuesdays are best since there's too much good TV on Thursday nights. *BG*

I like Tuesday nights, too. Lunch chats are pretty much impossible for me due to the day job. & there's not a Starbucks for at least 30 miles in any direction, so that's not an option. ;)

I'm thinking, given the range of answers, that maybe some sort of rotation might be in order?

Thank you for all your responses to my inquiry. Yes, I try to rotated and work around the chat stars needs. I just wanted to make sure I was on the right track with what works for everyone. Of course, I try to have the transcripts up ASAP so no one really misses out. Thanks again! I will do my best to schedule the chats accordingly.

I'm new here, and I must say that I really like the idea of the lunchtime chats. It would also give me a reason to take a break from writing.

Oh, I missed seeing this poll when it first came out.

Tuesdays are so much better for me. Thursday is the night my fabulous critique group meets and I always miss the TKA chats on those nights. Sob.
